Nerja, with its ten miles of sandy shores, is a twenty-minute drive for something a little buzzier. Or don your hiking boots or hop on your mountain bikes to explore the verdant pine forests of the Sierra Almijara nature reserve and the lost village of Acebucha – trails start close to your door.
